Thank you for your interest in the Inaugural From Grief to Grace — Lavardo “Eljay” Fisher II Memorial 5K.
This memorial race was created in honor of Lavardo “Eljay” Fisher II, whose life was tragically lost at the age of 13 in an accidental shooting in Central Florida. Though his passing deeply impacted his family, friends, and community, his legacy continues to inspire a greater mission rooted in healing, remembrance, education, unity, and hope.
Community Response: The purpose of the From Grief to Grace Memorial 5K is to bring the community together in love, remembrance, and support while raising awareness in three meaningful areas: responsible gun ownership and safe firearm storage, organ, eye, and tissue donation through Donate Life education, and grief support for individuals and families navigating the loss of a loved one.
Through wellness, remembrance, and community connection, this Memorial 5K creates a safe and uplifting space where families, friends, and community partners can access resources, find encouragement, and stand together in promoting compassion, healing, prevention, and positive change throughout the community.
5K entry fees are $30 until midnight Sunday, October 11, 2026, and include a custom shirt. The late entry is $35 until Friday, October 23, 2026, at 6pm, and $40 on race day. Late and race day entries are not guaranteed a shirt, but we will strive to accommodate everyone.
